In observance of the International Day Against Trafficking (IDAT), which is annually observed on December 12, the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) conducted activities aimed at raising public awareness about human trafficking, its red flags, and encouraging action on suspected cases by calling the 1343 Actionline against Human Trafficking. The Actionline is a 24/7 hotline operated by the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking, which responds to emergency or crisis calls from victims of human trafficking and their families.
In collaboration with the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) and Dynamic Outsource Solutions, Inc. (DOS-1), the campaign involved distributing informational materials to public commuters at the transportation terminal. CFO officers Janet Ramos, Janine Eusebio, John Nichols Ruelos, Charles Sulla, Ronald Tan, and Levy Carañagan handed out primers on anti-trafficking laws, tote bags, pouches, notebooks, stickers, umbrellas, and posters promoting the action line. Also present were Mr. Gary Cayton, President of DOS-1, and Mary Jane Ecalne, DOS-1 Team Leader.
Campaigns in transportation terminals are crucial for the early detection and intervention of trafficking cases, as these locations are often targeted by traffickers to recruit and transport potential victims.
As the official contact center partner of the Commission on Filipino Overseas (CFO), Dynamic Outsource Solutions, Inc. (DOS1) remains committed to supporting the fight against human trafficking. By providing essential services through the 1343 Actionline, DOS1 plays a pivotal role in ensuring that victims of trafficking and their families have access to immediate assistance.
